GOVERNMENT OVERVIEW
The Town of Eastover has a Council-Manager form of government. The Town Council is comprised of a Mayor and six council members. The Mayor serves two year terms. All Council members are elected for four year terms; however, since the Town was incorporated on July 26, 2007 and held its first election in January 2008, the terms of council members are as follows: The three council members receiving the highest number of votes in the January 2008 election received a four year term. The remaining three council members received a two year term. Council member terms are thus staggered so that three seats are filled by elections every two years.
Town elections for Mayor and Town Council are non-partisan and at large (no wards are designated) and are held in November of odd-numbered years.
The Council appoints the Town Manager and Town Attorney. The Town Manager is the chief administrative officer, responsible for all departments and services.
